Removing greenhouse gases from the atmosphere is a fundamental part of the concept of net zero. This report provides an overview of the current status of various carbon dioxide removal (CDR) processes. On the one hand, the topic is gaining in economic, scientific and social importance. On the other hand, there is a gap to what models say is needed to reach the Paris Agreement.
This project has been devised and convened by experts in the field of Carbon Dioxide Removal (CDR), who are authors of Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) reports and currently lead major CDR research projects:
