Geology Excursion

Geology excursion in the Nature Park Pfyn-Finges

Time

09:00 - 17:00

Venue

Naturpark Pfyn-Finges
3970 Salgesch

Meeting place

Leuk SBB railway station

The landscape of the Pfynwald is extremely unlike the rest of the Rhone Valley: in addition to the huge alluvial of Illgraben the wild Rhone winds through the hills, which are derived from a landslide from the end of the last glacial period.

The tour takes us on a search for clues to explain these exceptional geological events: debris flow, Sedimentation, and a former glacial lake will be topics of the excursion.
