Sie unterstützen Politik, Verwaltung und Wirtschaft mit Fachwissen und pflegen den Dialog mit der Öffentlichkeit. Sie stärken den Austausch über die wissenschaftlichen Disziplinen hinweg und fördern den akademischen Nachwuchs.

Important players in peace- building and peacekeeping such as the UN Peace- building Commission and Support Office, the UN De- partment for Peacekeeping Operations and the Swiss government are currently reflecting on past strategies and on the changing inter- national context in order to formulate new avenues to respond to violent conflicts.
